Aaron Jones is likely playing his final games as a Green Bay Packer.
ESPN’s Rob Demovsky reported on Sunday that Jones is seeking new representation after his now former agent and the Packers couldn’t agree to a deal.
That likely means that the Packers’ running back feels like he’s worth more than Brian Gutekunst and his former agent do.
He may very well be.
But let someone else pay him that money.
The 26-year old running back is undoubtedly one of the most dynamic backs in the NFL.
But there’s no way he’d live up to the back end of his next contract.
He wants Ezekiel Elliott money. Christian McCaffrey money.
The Cowboys and Panthers are stupid for paying those guys.
It’s not 1990 anymore. This isn’t a rushing league.
On top of that, running backs are a dime a dozen.
4 of the top 5 rushers in the NFL this season are second round picks. The other is an undrafted rookie free agent.
You can find running backs anywhere.
Good for Aaron Jones for standing up for himself and trying to get his money.
At that position, with the amount of hits he takes, he should get every penny he can.
But those pennies are better spent elsewhere for the Green and Gold.
