Saturday’s winter storm caused a two-vehicle accident in southeast Dodge County that killed one person and injured two others.
The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office says it took place around 12:30 p.m. on Highway 60 near Jefferson Road, about three miles west of Hartford.
They determined a small SUV heading east lost control and ended up in the opposite lane of traffic, causing a pickup truck heading west to strike the SUV broadside.
The driver of the SUV, a 40-year-old Neosho man, died at the scene.
The driver of the pickup truck, a 50-year-old Horicon man, and his 11-year-old son were taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries and released.
Highway 60 around the accident scene was closed for around two hours so that road crews could clean up.
The sheriff’s office and the Dodge County Medical Examiner’s Office continue to investigate. They believe road conditions, blowing snow and wind were factors in the crash.
Also assisting at the scene were the Wisconsin State Patrol, DCERT, the Dodge County Sheriff Chaplain, Hartford EMS, and Neosho Fire and First Responders.
