For the first time in six days, Wisconsin saw its new daily number of COVID-19 cases go above 1,000.
The Department of Health Services say 1,021 new cases were reported Friday, August 14, 2020 from 10,439 total tests analyzed.
The percentage of positive cases Friday is 9.8-percent, and it also continues a five day increase in the state’s seven-day positive percent average rate, now at 7.3-percent.
The seven-day average for new daily cases increased slightly to 780, but the overall trend for this continues to be downward since reaching a peak in late July.
Since the pandemic began, Wisconsin has reported 64,227 cases, with 9,003 considered active. There have also been 1,044,613 negative tests.
Deaths due to COVID-19 increased by seven Friday, bringing the statewide total during the pandemic to 1,025.
The current number of people receiving treatment at hospitals statewide is 336.
