The president of Milwaukee’s police union is renewing his support for Police Chief Alfonso Morales, while also placing blame on the city’s fire and police commision.
Milwaukee Police Association President Dale Bormann was joined Monday afternoon by the likes of State Representative Janel Brandtjen, State Senator Alberta Darling, former Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke, along with a handful of other officers.
“He is corrupt and he is deceiving,” Bormann said of Milwaukee Police and Fire Commission Chairman Steven DeVougas. “The mayor doesn’t trust him and our police chief doesn’t trust him.”
The FPC is expected to vote and issue directives for Chief Morales during a special meeting Monday night.
“I can see them flat out firing him,” Bormann said of Monday’s meeting. “The other thing I can see, if they decide not to, I think DeVougas is going to pretty much slap Al Morales with a bunch of directives to get things done, even though a lot of the stuff is not the right way of doing it.”
“As a native of the city of Milwaukee, and having policed here for nearly 40 years, it pains me to see that the political class has crawled into bed with the devil–the cop haters–while turning their backs on the men and women of law enforcement who are doing what they can to maintain law and order,” said former Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke.
The special FPC meeting is expected to get underway Monday night at 6 p.m.
