The U.S. Census Bureau continues to look for people who can be available to work during next spring's 2020 Census.
The bureau has set up the following "Applicant Day" recruiting events in Milwaukee this week. This is where anyone interested in a job can apply.
December 16:
– Department of Workforce Development, 2701 South Chase Avenue, from 9 a.m. to noon
– Mitchell Street Library, 906 West Historic Mitchell Street, from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
– Martin Luther King Library, 310 West Locust Street, from noon to 3 p.m.
December 17:
– Goodwill Workforce Center, 6055 North 91st Street, from 9:30 a.m. to noon
– Villard Square Library, 5190 North 35th Street, from 1 to 3 p.m.
December 18:
– Ross Innovative Solutions, 6550 North 76th Street, from 9:30 a.m. to noon
– Mill Road Library, 6431 North 76th Street, from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
– Washington Park Library, 2121 North Sherman Boulevard, from 1 to 3 p.m.
December 19:

People who are selected will be placed in a pool of potential hires, which will be filled as positions become available. One position that will be filled is census taker, who will travel door-to-door to collect responses from those who do not respond to their 2020 Census form either online, by phone, or by mail.
Those hired will be eligible for pay ranging from $17 to $24 an hour, flexible hours and paid training.
