Update, 10 a.m.
Two suspects are in a Waukesha-area hospital after deputies shot them, and a dog is recovering from a stabbing wound following a standoff which led to the closure of I-94 and Highway 67 in Waukesha County.
A Sheriff’s spokesperson said that officers shot the two suspects, one of whom held the other at gunpoint when officers shot them.
The spokesperson said it began with a police chase involving a stolen vehicle in the Town of Eagle at about 4:20 p.m. Tuesday.
After a deputy fired at the vehicle invovled in the chase, the suspect ended it on Highway 67 but then began a standoff which lasted for hours.
A man was barricading himself in the vehicle involved and said he was holding a woman hostage. Both are considered suspects in the case.
The man refused to surrender to officers, and tactical gas was directed toward the vehicle.
The man attempted to flee while holding a woman at gunpoint when police fired and struck both of them. The man is in critical condition, while the woman is in stable condition.
The woman stabbed a Waukesha County Sheriff’s dog, but the dog has been treated and released.
No law enforcement officers or other individuals were hurt.
Update 5:30 a.m.
94 in both directions has been reopened.
Update 11:51 p.m.
The standoff with an armed suspect Waukesha County has ended and police say there’s no threat to the community.
Details are scarce, but the Department of Criminal Investigations is taking over after two separate officer-involved shootings Tuesday.
There’s no official word on if anyone was killed in the shootings, but investigators are still on scene.
Waukesha County Deputy Inspector Patrick Esser says drivers should expect closures of I-94 for the next few hours.

The Waukesha Sheriff’s Office says that an armed person barricaded inside a vehicle has led to the closure of both directions of I-94 in Waukesha County and Highway 67 in that area.
Patrick Esser, the department’s deputy inspector, said they are asking the public to avoid the area.
Both the eastbound and westbound lanes were closed between Highways F in Jefferson County and Highway P in Waukesha County.
Highway 67 was also closed.
There was no immediate further word on the nature of the incident.
