Update: May 7, 4:45 p.m.
WTMJ’s Debbie Lazaga reports that the Capitol Drive northbound offf-ramp is scheduled to re-open in October.
Original report
Milwaukee commuters that use Capitol Dr. near Port Washington Ave. should start planning ahead and preparing for delays.
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation will be closing the exit reamp from I-43 northbound to E. Capitol in conjunction with the bridge demolition on Port Washington Ave.
Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction on Capitol Dr. between 2nd Street and Green Bay Ave. The detour route will use the Locust Street exit to accommodate the traffic being diverted from Capitol Dr.
The D.O.T. says delays are expected and drivers should consider alternate routes.
