Milwaukee Police will be represented in Washington D.C. during National Police Week, which will honor officers killed in the line of duty.
On Tuesday, House of Harley Davidson helped load up 10 Milwaukee Police motorcycles that will be driven by MPD officers escorting the families of fallen officers Charles Irvine Jr. and Michael Michalski.
“Obviously it’s been a stressful and difficult year for our department,” said Milwaukee police Sgt. Roberto Colon. “Letting the families know that we’re there to help them is an honor, but it’s a humbling experience for all of us.”
The commemoration will honor officers killed in the line of duty in 2018.
The officers representing Milwaukee Police will head back next year for when fallen Officer Matthew Rittner, who was killed in 2019, is honored.
National Police Week runs May 12 – May 18.
