Marquette’s own super-scoring point guard has been chosen as one of the 10 best college basketball players in America.
The Atlanta Tipoff Club, bearer of the John Naismith Award for men’s college basketball player of the year, has chosen Markus Howard and nine other semifinalists for one of the major postseason individual awards in college basketball.
Howard is averaging 25.5 points (5th in Division 1 college basketball), four rebounds and four assists per game while averaging 43 percent shooting from three point range and 90.7 percent shooting from the free thrown line (8th in America).
Entering Wednesday, the junior guard is 6th in the nation in total points scored and 5th in three-point shots made,
