Power restored at UWM, but many outages in area

The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee reports that at least part of the campus underwent a power outage on Wednesday, one of many in the region.

The school shared information on social media during the 1 p.m. hour of the afternoon. Power was restored to the campus by 2:40 p.m.

We Energies reported about 2,000 customers out of power as of 2:30 p.m. At one point, more than 4,500 customers lost power.

According to We Energies, weather conditions predicated the outages.
