A 29-year-old Mount Pleasant man could be facing a number of charges after he threatened the lives of his wife and children at their apartment early Saturday morning.
Police say they received a 911 call around 4 a.m. from the wife, who claims her husband was trying to kill her. When officers arrived in the area of Margery Drive and Frankie Place, the wife and an older child were able to get out. She told officers her husband still have their newborn child at knifepoint, which officers confirmed.
The man barricaded the door to the apartment, forcing officers to enter it through a second-story patio door. A Taser was used to subdue to man, and the infant was rescued with no injuries. The husband was taken to a hospital for treatment before taken to the Racine County Jail.
The suspect now facing possible charges of disorderly conduct, recklessly endangering safety, false imprisonment, and obstructing. The Racine County District Attorney’s Office will decide on charges later this week.
