MADISON, Wis. — Residents and visitors to the Badger state will have new routes available by bus when traveling across Wisconsin, along with new service providers to use.
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation says the changes went into effect January 1, and are an effort to provide affordable and reliable transportation.
Lamers, Greyhound, Jefferson Lines and Wisconsin Transit Lines will be the newest partners for bus routes across the state that will impact these routes:
- Minneapolis, Minnesota to Milwaukee
- La Crosse to Milwaukee
- Madison to Dubuque, Iowa
Route 11 will be the newest addition to intercity transportation, providing trips from La Crosse to Green Bay using Lamers bus services, with fares averaging $54 for a one-way trip. The route will also make stops through Appleton, Waupaca, Stevens Point, Wisconsin Rapids and Tomah.
