An Ocnomowoc man is hoping for a chance to become an NFL place kicker.
“I have a really natural, raw leg strength,” said Casey Bednarski. “They say if you have talent, the NFL will find you.”
Bednarski, an Oconomowoc High School alum, finished his collegiate career at Minnesota State in 2018. It was highlighted by a 63-yard field goal, a D2 NSIC conference record.
“That was really cool,” recalled Bednarski. He has also connected on a couple of 55-yard field goals during his time at Minnesota State. “My coach trusted me, he let me bang ’em.”
Bednarski doesn’t look like the typical kicker (6’1″ and 225 lbs.) but he believes he can have success at the next level.
“A lot of it is mental,” he said. “If you don’t have confidence in yourself, who will?”
