For the second consecutive year, the Milwaukee Brewers’ top slugger has been named the best offensive player in the National League.
Christian Yelich has earned the 2019 Hank Aaron Award for his offensive performance in a season which was truncated by a knee injury in early September.
Yet despite missing the final 18 games of 2019, Yelich still led all of Major League Baseball with a 1.100 OPS and a .671 slugging percentage.
He led the NL in both batting average (.329, his second consecutive year winning that title in the NL) and on-base percentage (.429).
Yelich was sixth in all of MLB with 44 home runs. In the NL, he was third in total WAR (Wins Above Replacement) in the NL with 7.1, first in offensive WAR (7.3), third in stolen bases (30) and first in runs created (150).
