It’s no secret the Packers offense shines when executing the play-action pass.
Quarterback Aaron Rodgers has a league-leading 16 touchdowns on play-action so far this season, including 3 in their last game against the Bears.
“I think [tight end] Bob Tonyan is a big reason for that because he has made a ton of explosive plays out of play-action,” said former Packer and ESPN Milwaukee host Mark Tauscher. “Aaron gets more time. He can decipher through what’s going on, but it’s just a matter of getting more comfortable.”
Tauscher credits the run game for contributing to its success.
“You have to bring people down to try to stop Jamaal Williams and Aaron Jones, and when you do that you’re going to be giving up a little more on the back end,” he said.
