The Green Bay Packers may have had their worst season since 2005 and the first instance of a second consecutive losing season since 1991, but football fans still want to watch them.
The Packers played in the fourth-most watched Sunday game of the 2018 regular season, their Sunday night game against the New England Patriots in November.
Of the 22 games where more than 20 million people watched, the Packers played in four of them.
– Week 9: Packers-Patriots (Sunday Night) – 24.1 million, the highest-rated Sunday Night broadcast of 2018
– Week 1: Bears-Packers (Sunday Night) – 22.5 million
– Week 8: Packers-Rams (Late afternoon) – 21.88 million
– Week 12: Packers-Vikings (Sunday Night) – 20.44 million
Only the Dallas Cowboys (9), Patriots and New Orleans Saints (5) had more games with 20 million or more viewers.
Considering their final 6-9-1 record and the overall tumult of the campaign, those numbers show the Packers are always going to be must-watch TV, win or lose.
(Of course, we always encourage viewers to turn down their TV and listen to Wayne & Larry on WTMJ and desktop computer.)
