I want to take Packers fans on a little memory lane jog…
January 8th, 2023, roughly 2 months ago, it was a sad, depressing and cold finish to the Green Bay Packers season as they lost in the season finale against the Detroit Lions.
With a win in week 17, it would have meant playoffs – Instead, the loss meant another off-season laced with more questions than answers.
Fast forward to today…
The Green Bay Packers look to have a new starting quarterback in 2023 and have made it crystal clear this off-season – Jordan Love is ready, and Jordan Love is who they want leading their organization.
Look, I don’t think this really needs to be over-complicated.
If you don’t think the Packers front office and coahes trusts Love – ask yourself this? Why would they ALLOW their 4-time MVP to sit down, multiple times I may add, with another team, and talk to them about leaving Green Bay?
Why would Brian Gutekunst NOT confirm at the combine he wanted Rodgers back, like he has many times in the past?
The answer to those questions is right in front of you – Jordan Love has sat for three years and his time is NOW – Whether it goes great or ends up bad – He’s ready, and you may not like it or you may not agree with it, but he has earned his opportunity.
He was drafted in the first-round in 2020. He has watched a number of his peers get their playing shot, while he held a clipboard. He just worked, and worked, and kept his head down doing so.
This shouldn’t have to be said, but I’ll say it anyway- He won’t be Aaron Rodgers, just like Aaron Rodgers wasn’t Brett Favre.
He’ll be Jordan, and the season of Love is right around the corner. Embrace it.
