Make sure you’re tuned into the Bucks game tonight.
You might be in for a show.
The Milwaukee Bucks visit the Miami Heat for the first of back-to-back games in South Beach.
The Heat, of course, bounced the Bucks from the NBA’s Bubble in September.
That’s a fact that certainly has not escaped Giannis Antetokounmpo.
He spoke as recently as last week in an interview with ESPN about how eye-opening it was to see Jimmy Butler and the Heat putting everything they had into their playoff run.
Giannis realized that winning a title is going to hurt.
He respects the Heat. He’s learned from the Heat. But he has to put the Heat in the past.
That starts tonight.
Giannis is the type of guy that’ll mark a game on the calendar for extra motivation. In an otherwise meaningless game against the Grizzlies last December, Antetokounmpo went out of his way to dunk all over Memphis big man Bruno Caboclo, who basically looked at him the wrong way during the FIBA World Cup of Basketball months prior.
Giannis didn’t forget.
And he hasn’t forgotten the bubble heartbreak.
So, Miami, be on high alert. Something is coming. A dunk. A block. A mean mug. Something.
Something to prove who’s still the MVP. Who’s still the boss. And, who you’ll have to go through in June.
