Coan was expected to be the team’s starter heading into the season until he suffered a foot injury that sidelined him for multiple weeks.
He did not take a snap for the team in 2020.
Redshirt freshman Graham Mertz made all six starts for the Badgers this season.
Coan made 18 starts for Wisconsin throughout his career. He threw for 2,727 yards and 18 touchdowns in 2019.
