MILWAUKEE – WTMJ News presents the latest in its ongoing “Community Conversation” series on the controversial tasing of Milwaukee Bucks shooting guard Sterling Brown. The ensuing local and national reaction to the release of the bodycam video from the Milwaukee Police Department has been significant.
The one-hour special will air Thursday, May 31st from 3pm – 4pm. The show will be a forum for civic leaders, team officials and law enforcement experts to discuss details of the event, reaction from both sides of the story and community policing tactics.
“This story touches our audience in many ways,” said Eric Brooks, WTMJ Director of Programming and News. “It’s our responsibility to provide issue-responsive programming on complex challenges impacting our community, such as this.”
Listeners will hear exclusive interviews with Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett and Milwaukee Police Association President Mike Crivello, and live discussions with Wisconsin Voices' African American Roundtable Director Markasa Tucker, and former police officer and proper arrest and use of force tactics instructor Robert Willis.
WTMJ’s John Mercure and Melissa Barclay will moderate the one-hour special.
