This week on The Upswing, WTMJ’s Jeff Sherman gets a new coffee fix that’s expanding across Wisconsin, and looks into a sister city relationship between Milwaukee and Galway.
Jeff first welcomed Tommy Pennington and Kevin Schmoldt, two of the franchise owners of 7Brew locations in Wisconsin. 7Brew is a drive-thru-only concept focused on high-energy drinks. They explained how the fast-paced coffee chain came to the state and how they chose their locations, such as their newest store in Glendale on Port Washington Rd. They noted how the chain can help bring traffic to nearby businesses as a beverage-only establishment, and how they pride themselves on their decisions around real estate and impact on the communities that they serve,
With Summerfest Tech concluding Friday, one of the panel and keynote speakers, Thomas Fisher, operations manager for Platform94, joined The Upswing for a globetrotting conversation on technology. He explained how Platform94, a Galway, Ireland-based company, works with companies to scale internationally. He also talked about how other cities like Milwaukee can become a bigger tech hub like Galway, its sister city, and some of the gaps that still need to be filled to reach that goal.
The Upswing is presented by Horicon Bank.
