Fall or spring, winter or fall, there’s always something to do in Wisconsin!
Steve Scaffidi takes you around the state and beyond with guests covering every aspect of recreation, hunting and fishing, and the equipment you need to do it.
Although this time of year the whitetail deer gets a lot of attention in Wisconsin, it’s also time for the annual Turkey hunting season. Taylor Finger, Game Bird Ecologist in the Bureau of Wildlife Management at the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR), walks you through all you need to know about the season, the rise of the “urban” turkey, and why the turkey population is doing so well in the state.
Tammy Sawyer, Development Director at Wisconsin Hero Outdoors, joins Steve to talk about their organization and the great work they do providing peer support, mental restoration, and social connection for our military veterans by organizing guided outdoor recreation programs.
And Steve visited with Jennifer Bolger Breceda from Milwaukee Riverkeeper, a community-led nonprofit which works to protect and improve the waterways of the Milwaukee River Basin.
Steve Scaffidi is also the host of Point Taken, which airs 10-Noon, weekdays on 620 WTMJ.
