Konya Hendricks Schuh was blunt when she learned her hometown of Beloit had been dubbed the “worst city to live in” by USA Today.
“It sucked,” Hendricks Schuh told WTMJ’s Wisconsin’s Midday News in July 2025.
Pride and love for their city prompted Hendricks Schuh and her mother, ABC Supply co-founder Diane Hendricks, to create the TV show “Betting on Beloit.” The home renovation program focused on restoring homes in blighted neighborhoods.
It takes an entire community of people to be emotionally invested in a city,” Visit Beloit CEO Celestino Ruffini told WTMJ’s Wis. Morning News. “At the top of the list is the Hendricks family. They have been so generous of their time and resources. The first priority this year has been residential redevelopment.”
