The Governor of the State of Wisconsin is requesting for the state legislature to pass a bill allowing for mailing of absentee ballots to every registered voter in the state.
Governor Tony Evers asked for the Republican-led legislature to pass his request, saying that votes ought to count if the postmark on returned ballots would be April 7 or earlier.
He also asked for extra time for ballots to be counted and tabulated.
Evers shared this statement below via Twitter video:
My focus has been and will continue to be ensuring everyone has the opportunity to cast their ballot in the upcoming election. That’s why today I am calling on the Legislature to act to send an absentee ballot to every registered voter in Wisconsin. pic.twitter.com/39rXpZVmfK
