NEW YORK — CBS Sports is parting ways with broadcaster and former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo following his arrest in Milwaukee for operating while intoxicated over the summer.
“CBS Sports and Tony Romo have mutually agreed to part ways. We thank Tony for his contributions over the past nine years and wish him the best moving forward,” read the statement October 2.
Romo pleaded no contest in September and had his driving privileges revoked for six months.

Romo received his initial citation on July 23 for refusing to take a breathalyzer test after being stopped by a Milwaukee County Sheriff’s deputy on I-43 south on the high rise bridge. According to an arrest-detention record obtained by WTMJ, Romo was given a standard field sobriety test and “performed poorly”.
The former Dallas Cowboys quarterback was in Wisconsin participating in the Wisconsin State Amateur golf event in West Bend earlier in the day, and told deputies he had been on his way to a family members house when he was pulled over.
Former Wisconsin Badger JJ Watt will continue as CBS’s primary NFL color commentator alongside regulars Jim Nantz and Tracy Wolfson.
