Milwaukee Journal Sentinel sports columnist Lori Nickel joins Wisconsin’s Morning News to share the story behind the Brewers’ clubhouse “win wall,” a clubhouse tradition that marks each regular-season win with a brick-sized sticker. Nickel said the idea started several years ago after clubhouse operations staffer Dan Larrea asked Ryan Braun how to spruce up the clubhouse.
Braun suggested adding a brick for every win. The wall was first hand-painted in 2019, Nickel said, but the process eventually moved to stickers because painting each win became too involved. Now, each sticker includes the date of the win and is printed before the season begins.
Nickel said players often place the stickers themselves after victories.
