MILWAUKEE— The man accused of killing three people in Milwaukee on August 8 appeared in court Monday, where a commissioner set his cash bond at $1 million.
Thomas Zollicoffer faces three counts of first-degree intentional homicide and four counts of possessing a firearm as a convicted felon.
Police say the first shooting happened near 21st and Pierce, where 26-year-old Vanessa DeHerrera and 29-year-old Scott Bucholz were killed.

Prosecutors say Zollicoffer then went to a home near 39th and Townsend, where a 39-year-old Shamarla Hare was shot and killed.

Investigators say evidence from the two crime scenes tied the shootings together.
The killings led to a search for Zollicoffer that lasted several days.
Police eventually found Zollicoffer at a home near 84th and Fiebrantz.
Court records say officers tried to get him to come out, but he stayed inside, prompting a tactical response and negotiations. He was eventually taken into custody.
Zollicoffer’s cousin, Elena Cole, is also facing charges in connections with the case.
Prosecutors allege Cole allowed him to stay at her home even after learning about the killings. She’s charged with one felony count of harboring or aiding a felon and three misdemeanor counts of child neglect.
Cole’s Bond was set at $5,000.

A third person, 47-year-old Sengchanh Phengphonsavanh, is also charged with harboring or aiding a felon. Prosecutors allege he drove Zollicoffer after the shootings.

Zollicoffer’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for August 24 at 1:30 p.m.
Cole’s preliminary hearing is also set for August 24.
