MARSHALL, Wis. — All of the dogs are out. The final 155 beagles at Ridglan Farms were released on Wednesday, effectively closing the controversial animal testing facility after 60 years in business.
WTMJ was one of only three media outlets allowed to be at a staging area in Marshall, WI as the final dogs arrived. WTMJ’s Jessica Tighe talked with Big Dog Ranch Rescue CEO Lauree Simmons as the final dogs were released.
“This is our sixth trip up here,” Simmons said, “and this by far, was the most rewarding.”
Simmons told Tighe that last dog out of that facility was probably a nine or ten year old female who they believe had ten litters and lived her entire life at Ridglan Farms.
