MILWAUKEE — A suspect is under arrest in connection with a pair of deadly shootings in Milwaukee that turned out to be related.
A 36-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday, Aug. 11 after a police standoff near 84th St. and Hope Ave. The man is accused of shooting and killing three people in two shootings just 25 minutes apart on Saturday night.
According to the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s Office, 26-year-old Vanessa Deherrera was shot several times during a party at a friend’s apartment near 21st St. and West Pierce St. Her friend, 29-year-old Scott Bucholz, was shot and killed after he tried to intervene.
The suspect then allegedly drove across town and shot 39-year-old Shamarla Hare near 39th St. and West Townsend St.
The victims’ families say the murders stemmed from a domestic dispute.
Charges against the 36-year-old man will be referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office.
