MEQUON, Wis. — The roof of a barn in Mequon collapsed Monday morning, sending seven people to the hospital with injuries.
Southern Ozaukee Fire Department crews responded around 10 a.m. on April 13 near Range Line Road and County Line Road, where multiple people were trapped under debris.
Several people were able to make their way out of the collapse on their own, and fire crews rescued the three people who were trapped.
“This was a challenging rescue operation that required coordination between multiple agencies,” said Fire Chief David Bialk. “Thanks to the rapid response and teamwork, all trapped individuals were safely removed.”
A total of seven people were taken to the hospital with injuries ranging from minor to serious.
The cause of the collapse is still under investigation.
