FOX LAKE, Wis. — Several homes were completely destroyed and two people were sent to the hospital after a fire in Fox Lake early Sunday morning.
Fox Lake Fire Department crews were dispatched to Howard Drive and Lower Howard Drive just off of Fox Lake on Feb. 8 around 2:45 a.m. Firefighters said they could already see one house fully engulfed in flames, with fire spreading to nearby homes as they approached the scene.

The fire was quickly escalated to a second alarm, bringing in additional fire crews from nearby municipalities.
Firefighters immediately began exposure protection as they battled flames on four separate structures. Fox Lake Fire Department said an elevated master stream provided by the Markesan Fire Department helped stop the fire from spreading further.
One firefighter and one resident were taken to the hospital for minor injuries. They have since been released.
Three homes are considered total losses.
Crews were on scene for nearly 10 hours. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
