WAUWATOSA, Wis. — The cities of Wauwatosa and West Allis are exploring the potential for shared fire and emergency medical services.
City staff say the goal of a recent study was to explore whether a merger could maintain or improve service levels.
According to the report, service levels would remain or improve, and it could save each city $7 million over five years.
Officials say without a merger, both cities would likely face cuts to services and staff.
No decisions have been made.
Public meetings to discuss the report will take place in both Wauwatosa and West Allis throughout September.
