MILWAUKEE, Wis. – Start planning, Milwaukee. Free burgers will be handed out by George Webb August 20th to celebrate the Milwaukee Brewers’ 12-game winning streak.
The giveaway will run from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m. at all 23 George Webb locations throughout Wisconsin.
Vouchers will be available starting this Friday, August 15 for pick up at restaurant locations for those who want to enjoy their hamburger at a later date. A limited menu will also be available on the giveaway day with deals on extra burgers, fries and drinks.
“Our founder made the bold prediction of 12 games in a row back in the 1940s, and it has only been realized three times in our company history,” said Ryan Stamm, vice president of George Webb Restaurants. “We couldn’t be happier for Milwaukee – we look forward to grilling up some tasty victory burgers for the best fans in baseball.”

George Webb’s famously gave away free burgers following Brewers winning streaks in 1987 and 2018. At the most recent giveaway, there were 90,000 free burgers given out along with 100,000 redeemable vouchers, according to the restaurant.
The free burgers promotion does come at a cost for the company, Vice President Ryan Stamm admits.
“We don’t have insurance for this,” Stamm explained to WTMJ. “In the long run, it pays off. Our customers take care of us. Not everyone is coming in just for a free burger. (The give-away) is strong for the brand and important to us but no insurance policy for this one.”
The Crew are now 76-44 on the season.
They’ll have a day off Thursday then embark on an 8-game road trip to Cincinnati and Chicago for a 5-game series against the Cubs.
