GLENDALE – Founded in 1985 by Randy Sprecher, Milwaukee’s first craft Brewer, Sprecher Brewing Company, is celebrating 40 years with special tours, events, and even free root beer. Randy Sprecher left the former Pabst Brewing Company in Milwaukee to found Sprecher in the Walkers Point Neighborhood, featuring Special Amber, Black Bavarian and Hefe Weiss, as well as rotating seasonal beers. Randy introduced root beer early on, so kids could get a taste of something special while their parents were on brewer tours.
In 2020, Randy Sprecher sold to a small group of local investors, lead by the company’s current President and CEO Sharad Chadha.
