Two weeks after he signed off for the last time from the airwaves, long time Beaver Dam radio broadcaster John Moser passed away.
His death was announced Friday evening on WBEV-AM, one of the two stations in that city he worked at for over 47 years.
Moser’s family says he went coyote hunting in the Mount Horeb area Thursday, but they reached out to law enforcement after he failed to return home.
His body was found Friday morning. A cause of death remains under investigation.
Moser began working in Beaver Dam in 1973. Over time he was a news announcer, disc jockey, marketing consultant and general manager.
Moser was named one of the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association’s Local Broadcast Legends for 2020, sharing the honor with long-time morning show co-host Bill McCollum.
