The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel is mourning the loss of one of their own.
Reporter Meg Jones died at the age of 58 after being diagnosed with metastatic pancreatic cancer last month.
Those who got to know Meg over the years say she’ll leave a lasting legacy.
“I think it was her empathy and interests in everybody she encountered,” said the Journal Sentinel’s Greg Borowski on Wisconsin’s Afternoon News. “Those are two skills you want in a journalist, to be interested and curious and empathetic, but she just was genuinely that type of person.”
Borowksi says Meg was also an avid sports fan, and everything you’d want out of a Wisconsin reporter.
“She touched so many of the corners of the state,” he said. “In many respects she was Wisconsin’s storyteller…these are the average folks and average stories that are sometimes forgotten about.”
