The City of Milwaukee’s Health Commissioner is out.
Nearly two years after taking over the department, Dr. Jeanette Kowalik announced her resignation Wednesday morning.
She will be heading to Washington D.C. to join the organization Trust for America’s Health.
In a written statement, Kowalik wrote that she feels limited in her current position for, “factors that are out of my control.”
Kowalik assumed the role of Health Commissioner in September of 2018.
A replacement has not been announced.
