The Milwaukee County District Attorney has filed five chargers of first degree intentional homicide, and possession of a firearm as a felon, against someone who allegedly shot and killed five people in the home he lived in.
Christopher Stokes, 43, faces charges after the murders of Teresa Thomas, 41, and four teenagers inside their home near the corner of North 12th and West Locust Streets on Milwaukee’s north side Monday morning.
If he is convicted, he faces a prison sentence of up to five life terms plus 35 years.
The criminal complaint says that twice around the time of 10:40 a.m. Monday, Stokes called 911. He allegedly saying “Um, I just massacred my whole family” and “the gun is still upstairs with the bodies” during the first call and “I just killed my whole family” and “with my Mossberg” during the second.
Police said in the complaint that Stokes was sitting on the front porch of the home when officers arrived. They reportedly found the gun and numerous bullet shells.
Previous court records showed that Stokes had been convicted in 2007 of substantial battery, a felony.
There was no listed motive for the murder in the complaint.

Police have identified the five people who were found dead in a home Monday morning at a home near the corner of North 12th and West Locust Streets in Milwaukee on Monday morning:
Demetrius R. Thomas, a 14 year old male
Tera R. Agee, a 16 year old female
Lakeitha M. Stokes, a 17 year old female
Marcus G. Stokes, a 19 year old male
Teresa R. Thomas, a 41 year old woman
The suspect, 43, has been arrested and is awaiting charges. Police say he knew all five victims.

Milwaukee Police say investigators are looking into the killing of five people Monday morning on the city’s north side.
Officers found five people dead inside a home near the corner of North 12th and West Locust Street. TMJ4 News reports the shooting happened before 11 a.m.
TMJ4 video from the scene showed at least one person being taken into custody. They report that arrested man called police about the shooting. Police believe initially that no other suspects were involved, and there was no more active threat to the community connected to the incident.
Police Chief Alfonso Morales says the victims are between 14 and 41 years old.
There was no initial word on the events that led to the shooting.
