MILWAUKEE- The Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office filing homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle charges against Todd Swessel.
Police say the 47 year old ran over 37 year old Nathan Garski near 25th and Clybourn Tuesday night. According to the report, Garski was facing the opposite direction of the truck and did not see it before it hit him.
Police say when they arrived on scene they found Swessel behind the wheel of a Toyota 4Runner. Swessel was unconscious behind the wheel and had an open car of beer on his lap.
According to the criminal complaint, Swessel reportedly admitted to police that he had consumed four beers, snorted heroin and smoked synthetic marijuana prior to the crash.
Swessel appeared in court on Sunday and is due back in court next Wednesday for his preliminary hearing.
