MILWAUKEE- The relationship between the Milwaukee Police Association and the chief of the department isn’t always friendly, but the handling of contract negotiations between the Fire and Police Commission and Chief Alfonso Morales has pushed the bond closer together.
Milwaukee Police Association President Shawn Lauda tells WTMJ’s John Mercure he thinks that FPC Chairman Steven DeVougas should step down or be removed. Lauda’s full conversation with John Mercure can be heard below.
The Fire and Police Commission will vote on a new contract for Morales during a special meeting tonight. Details regarding Morales’ contract are not readily available but contracts handed out to police chiefs in the past have run for four years.
