Midwest Express, the once popular airline that flew out of Mitchell International, has tapped Portland, Maine-based Elite Airways to serve as their flight provider as the company looks to kickstart its rebirth.
According to a news release from the company this morning, Elite Airways will operate the initial aircraft and provide flight crews and maintenance service for Midwest Express. Midwest Express will establish its own reservation system, customer service operations, and in-flight amenities. In addition, all front-facing customer interaction, including on-plane branding, will be Midwest Express.
Details regarding where, and how often, Midwest Express branded flights will take off and land at Mitchell International, have not been released. According to the company, the routes and flight times will be based on business community needs.
Midwest, made famous for their in-flight cookies, operated from 1984 until November of 2010.
