Milwaukee Police have announced the route a procession will take with the body of fallen Officer Matthew Rittner, who was shot and killed last Monday on the city’s south side.
The procession should be expected to happen during the afternoon commute and will use two freeways, but unlike the procession for fallen MPD Officer Michael Michalski, it will not go north on I-43/94.
The memorial service is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. Wednesday afternoon after a public viewing and wake, all at Oak Creek Assembly of God at 7311 South 13th Street.
Afterward, the procession will take the following route:
– North on 13th Street
– East on Rawson Avenue
– North on Pennsylvania Avenue
– North on I-794, exiting on Oklahoma Avenue
– East on Oklahoma Avenue
– North on Illinois Avenue
– Northwest on Superior Street
– East on Russell Avenue
– North on Lincoln Memorial Drive
– West on Carferry Drive
– North, then west on I-794
– West on I-94, exiting on northbound State Highway 175 (Miller Park freeway)
– North on State Highway 175, exiting on Washington Boulevard
– West on Washington Boulevard
– South on 51st Street
– East on Vliet Street
– South on Alois Street
– Merging south on State Highway 175, exit on I-94
– West on I-94 to exit 297 on Barker Road
– North on Barker Road
– West on Capitol Drive, ending at Krause Funeral Home at 21600 West Capitol Drive
