Milwaukee Police confirmed Sunday that they found the bodies of three people reported missing this past week, which were also the subject of an Amber Alert.
Chief Alfonso Morales says the family of Amarah Banks reported her missing on February 9. During their search for her, they found out her two daughters, 5-year-old Zaniya Ivery and 4-year-old Cameria Banks, were also missing.
It was not until early morning hours of February 15 when Milwaukee Police got word from Memphis Police that they had taken Arzel Ivery, Amarah Banks’ boyfriend, into custody.
“Milwaukee Police detectives were sent down to Memphis to speak with Mr. Avery,” says Morales. “He provided them with information on the status of Ms. Banks and her two daughters. That led us to the garage in the 4700 block of West Burleigh (Street). With great sadness, I’m here to tell you we discovered the bodies of Amarah Banks, and her two daughters Cameria and Zaniya.”
The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s Office says they will conduct the autopsy on the three victims Monday.
Morales adds the investigation into the deaths are continuing, with charges against Arzel Ivery expected to be filed Monday.
