The big news in terms of football in Minnesota Tuesday involves the Vikings choosing not to exercise the option on running back Adrian Peterson.
Meanwhile, birds are dying at an alarming rate, thanks to the stadium's construction.
As Citypages.com puts it, “U.S. Bank Stadium is a bird killing machine.”
It had been feared that the way the stadium was constructed, with 200,000 square feet of clear glass that is beautiful to the human eye, is hazardous to the flight patterns of birds.
Conservation monitors took a tour around the stadium over a period of 11 weeks and found 60 dead birds on the stadium site.
Those monitors are estimating that about 500 birds will die every year due to the way the stadium was built – far and away the most dangerous building for birds in the state of Minnesota.
One nature advocate is asking for the glass to be replaced with a less reflective style or a coating on the glass to “make it more friendly.”
