One-day positive coronavirus test totals in Wisconsin have fallen dramatically, following what had been a record day of positive tests.
The Wisconsin Department of Health Services says 712 COVID-19 tests administered in the last 24 hours came out positive. That total is 405 fewer than the 1,117 positive test results released Tuesday, a record for the current pandemic.
4.8 percent of coronavirus tests came out positive on Wednesday in Wisconsin, a drop from 7.7 percent on Tuesday and 10.1 percent on Monday. This means the daily percentage of positive tests in the state has dropped by more than half over the last two days.
The seven-day average for daily new cases in Wisconsin also fell for the first time in the last two weeks. It is now 874, a drop from 890 on Tuesday.
Six more people have died after having tested positive for coronavirus, making the death toll in Wisconsin a total of 865 people.
31 more people have been hospitalized due to COVID-19. That means 4,225 people have faced hospitalization – 9.4 percent of all people who have tested positive in our state.
44,847 people have had positive tests in the state of Wisconsin since the pandemic began.
