FRANKLIN, Wis. — A memory care employee pleads not guilty to stealing items from a resident.
52-year-old Bryant Moss of Oak Creek faces felony misappropriating identification information to obtain money from an elderly or disabled person and theft of movable property.
Franklin Police investigated claims of missing items starting in October 2025 by a family whose parents are residents at the Franklin Place Memory Care facility. The family claims that their mother’s Samsung Galaxy S23 FE, a gold wedding ring with eight to nine diamonds, and a gold engagement ring all went missing.
It wasn’t until January 14 that the family started noticing fraudulent charges on their mother’s credit card, according to the criminal complaint. The purchases on January 12 included “$507.95 at Walgreens… pending transactions of $1 each from Villard Petro Mart… and a purchase of $9.09 at McDonald’s” at 2:49 p.m.” before the family cancelled the credit card.
Detectives obtained surveillance video from the Walgreens and the Villard Petro Mart showing a black man in a black SUV that was later identified as Moss.
Records from an EcoATM showed that Moss swapped the stolen cell phone for cash, since he “provided his driver’s license and his photo to conduct the transaction”.
Moss was arrested on February 10 while working at the Franklin Place Memory Care. He is currently out on bond, and is due back in court for his preliminary hearing on March 6.
