Working as a trial lawyer for one of the most well known Wisconsin law firms should be interesting enough work for attorney Al Foeckler of Cannon & Dunphy in Milwaukee.
But when he recently sat down with Scaffidiology Podcast Host Steve Scaffidi, Foeckler remembered an amazing story of a case he worked on in 2017 which revolved around a 1924 autographed Babe Ruth bat, which Ruth had used to hit his first home run of that baseball season, and later donated.
Foeckler shared the incredible details of that historic piece of baseball memorabilia, which went missing for three decades, and how he came to be involved in resolving the mystery. of what came to be known as the 1924 Phil Grossman Babe Ruth bat.
A little known fact about Foeckler, he also served as Interim Mayor of Oak Creek immediately before Scaffidi was elected as mayor in April of 2012.
The law, the life of an attorney-and mayor-with some baseball history thrown in, on this week’s episode of Scaffidiology.
Steve Scaffidi is also the host of Point Taken, which airs from 10-Noon weekdays on 620 WTMJ.
