MILWAUKEE— Milwaukee Public Schools athletics commissioner Bobbie Kelsey is now out of a job.
The district announced on Tuesday, October 14th that Kelsey is no longer an employee of the district and that former athletics commissioner Bill Molbeck would take over Kelsey’s position starting on Wednesday, October 15th.
Kelsey had been hired back in 2019 to replace Molbeck who had led the district athletics office for 17-years.
It was back in 2024 did the athletics office come under scrutiny after it had failed to file paperwork for both Bay View and Pulsaski High School football teams to the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Assocation.
Failure to submit such paperwork resulted in both high school teams having to forfeit games and not moving forward into the WIAA State Football playoffs.
The clerical error by the MPS Athletic’s Office was then scrutinized by parents and students.
MPS leadership says Bill Molbeck will continue to work in partnership with Andrew Rossa, who is serving as director of Milwaukee Recreation in an underfill role, as we advance athletic and academic opportunities for all students and families.
