Brewers 50/50: October 12, 2018 – Brandon Woodruff bombs Kershaw [VIDEO]

“Are you kidding?” Joe Buck yelled on television.

“I don’t think he touched any of the bases. He was flying around,” Jeff Levering exclaimed behind the WTMJ microphone.

Those words spoke of the wonderment, the shock and, in Milwaukee’s eyes, the happiness of Brandon Woodruff’s 407-foot bomb off of future Hall of Fame pitcher Clayton Kershaw when the Brewers opened the National League Championship Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers with…a…bang.

Milwaukee was down 1-0 to the Dodgers in the third inning when the Dodgers’ ace battled the Brewers’ future hopeful ace at the plate.

Woodruff won that battle, by far. And it began Milwaukee’s five-run, two inning explosion off of Kershaw and reliever Ryan Madson.

Milwaukee had a 6-1 lead when the Dodgers created a comeback that put them within one run, but Corey Knebel forced Justin Turner to strike out swinging to end their last chance in the 9th inning, and the Crew took a 1-0 series lead on Los Angeles.
