U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer says Milwaukee was selected to host an international trade meeting because the city represents the kind of manufacturing-driven economy the Trump administration wants to expand across the country.
Greer joined Point Taken while traveling to Rockwell Automation for the G20 Trade Ministerial. He described Milwaukee as a “microcosm” of the desired national economy, pointing to the region’s manufacturing base, service sector, nearby agriculture and access to Great Lakes shipping.
